August Nibblefest: “1962 Testing A Moonsuit” Mixed Media Painting

M-O-O-N, that spells Moon.

This month’s Nibblefest entry starting on Ebay at .99 cents, 20th through the 27th. August theme is Sci-Fi and Aliens.

(Update-SOLD-thanks Chris and Rhonda in TX!)

Saw this “Moonsuit” on the cover of Life Magazine circa 1962 with the words “Man’s Journey to the Moon” along with “Preview of the Greatest Adventure of All Time” and “Testing a Moonsuit.”

This is an 8″ x 10″ original. Completely hand painted black and white images and acrylic painted background on archival artist canvas panel board. (Not wood).

This brings back the fondest memories of being a kid and growing up around the space program. Can you spot the Big and Little Dippers?

Reminiscent of times in California’s Silicon Valley, Cape Canaveral in Florida, and the Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston. Of NASA, Project Mercury, McDonnell Aircraft Corporation, McDonnell Douglas, Lockheed, Lockheed Martin, and so on.

Those years made for a very interesting and varied childhood.
