Art: “Not An Ode To Summer”

I would liked to have had a few more months of Spring and the milder temperatures but for some reason I don’t have much control over the seasons. Imagine that!

I’m not doing an ode to summer. I’d do one to spring but that has already sprung.

I know summer has it’s purpose but I am not looking forward to the heat and humidity.

Maybe I’ll get a better attitude after I sit out on the porch on a hot summer day in the shade with a cold drink.

Hopefully that ratty old porch ceiling fan still works and will help me keep cool.

I’ll step out into the sunshine periodically to absorb some vitamin D and see if my mood gets elevated. I’ll keep you posted.

Did I say I prefer spring?

Frame-able area approximately 5″ x 7″, watercolor, ink, mixed media on paper.

  1. Hah! But in the shade with an iced drink will surely elevate your mood. I must admit that the older I get, the less able I am to cope with the heat, even though my decrepit body needs as much warmth as possible to ease the effects of my condition. What a dichotomy! Good to see you back in the loop, Sherry.
